Top Christmas Toys 2013 – Top Tastic Toy Listaroonies

Father Christmas and Rosie

Christmas toys in October, you must be mental sir, yes I know daft isn’t it. I actually went to the supermarket the other day and saw a Christmas stand and it wasn’t even toy it was mince pies and christmas cake. Seriously weird that people would want stuff like that in October, but hey each to their own!

Back on subject through, Christmas Toys 2013.

Father Charlie ChristingleI’ve been watching the Toy industry since about 2008, It’s no secret I make a few pennies of some of the links on this site, but in writing the reviews for Toychief.co.uk I’ve had the opportunity to view the frankly huge Toy Industry Machine kind of from the sidelines.

I occasionally have a bit of contact with some of the nicer Toy Shops, but apart from that I look at what is being churned out and form my opinion. I have to say churned out because they really do make a stupid amount of toys in their constant attempt to get parents like us to pay attention. Most of the time they get to us via our children, but that’s a discussion for another day.

The toy industry on the whole though is a nice place to be, there are some great, toy manufacturers out there and some great toy lines that excite even this mildly cynical 36-year-old man. I can only imagine what children think of them, well I know that my Son gets very excited about his favorites.

Where is this rambling going Simon? Well my point is that having seen what happens in the Toy Industry over the years it makes me smile to see which company can get their “Top Toys For Christmas” list out the quickest. Every year it seems like it’s getting sooner and sooner. I imagine in 20 years time they will be announcing them just after christmas!

So the question is who was first to announce what Toys they thought would be the best and most popular this coming Christmas 2013?

Christmas Toys 2013 Toy Lists

It seems that Hamleys seem to be winning this odd competition for the last few years and it may have a lot to do with the event they hold each year “Christmas in June!”. Personally I think this i s a little early, but if you look at it from another angle, it takes a long time for the retail industry to work out the logistics of what they do. Getting all those toys on the shelves in time for all us eager parents, in time for Crimbo. So when you look at it like that they can be forgiven for planning ahead.

I’m always interested to see whether what they thought the top toys would be back then in June, end up actually being popular.

Well lets take a look at what they predicted.

Argos Christmas 2013 Top Toys

Argos – Top Toys for Christmas – July 24th

I have to take my Hat of to Argos this year, because they have gone about things with a bit of a different twist. Rather than just choosing the toys themselves they have asked a selection of parents who work in a broad range of jobs what they think would be the best toy to help children with a certain part of their development.
