When I first heard about this new LEGO Lord Of The Rings range I smiled for weeks. I’ve been a fan of Tolkien since my dad read me The Hobbit as a boy, the magical world of Middle Earth has always been a favourite haunt for me and with the recent films and the coming soon Hobbit film I am a happy brandywine bunny!
But seriously then LEGO decide to throw in a curveball and go one step higher, my absolute all time favourite toy is LEGO.. combine this with my all time favourite book series The Lord of the Rings.. OMG I am in heaven with the Elves!
This stonking new Lord of the Rings LEGO is utterly fantastic and its just starting to hit the shelves right now. I know what I’m asking my wife for christmas, yes I am a nerd and by jolly I’m proud!
So here are all seven of the brand new Lord Of The Rings sets, One ring to Rule them ALL! ( I want them all!)
LEGO Lord Of The Rings Gandalf Arrives Price Comparison
I can almost hear the music from the film in my head, the camera pans in and there is Gandalf arriving. The first set in the LEGO Lord of the Rings range is conveniently Gandalf Arrives!
A small starter LEGO set that would be a perfect present for a LOTR’s fan (like me ;)), this one features LEGO Minifigures Gandalf, Frodo Baggins and Gandalf’s Horse and Cart stuffed full of fireworks for Bilbo Baggins 111th birthday party, where Frodo’s adventure begins as Bilbo hands him the Ring of Power.
I’m loving the LEGOfication of Tolkiens world.
LEGO Lord Of The Rings Shelob Attacks Price Comparison
Blimey, I hope non of you Lord Of The Rings fans out there are also Arachnophobes, because you are certainly not going to like this one! This spadertastic set is the LEGO Lord of the Rings Shelob Attacks set, another which is perfect for a present for a LEGO LOTR’s fan in your life (or me?).
Featuring the fantastic Shelob and I have to say the LEGO designers have utterly supposed themselves with this cracking design, she looks so real. Along with Shelob you also get three LEGO Minifigures, Frodo, Samwise Gamgee and Gollum, each of which comes with fantastic accessories, a fish, the Ring and the Light of Ëarendil. You also get a tiny bit of Shelbs cave, to be honest its a bit measly but you can build on it with your own bricks and make something she can fit into.
LEGO Lord Of The Rings Uruk-hai Army Price Comparison
Now we are getting down to the juicy Lord of the Rings sets. When I remember as a child reading the LOTR books I more than likely got my LEGO Castle out and pretended that my figures were Aragorn and the Uruk-hai.. 20+ years later they have only gone and done it properly!
The LEGO Lord of the Rings Uruk-hai set features a bit of the wall of Helms deep and plonks you well and truly into the thick of it with four angry looking Uruk-hai, created in the bowels of Saruman’s Isengard, they have been unleashed on the Rohan and their Elven allies.
With a fantastic Uruk-hai siege weapon and a rider of Rohan fitting for his life this is sure to bring joy to fans of the films. The only problem your going to have is stoping yourself buying loads of them so you can have AN ARMY OF URUK-HAI.. mmmmwwwwwhhhhh!!! erm.. err.. ok sorry is it just me?
LEGO Lord Of The Rings Attack On Weathertop Price Comparison
I think this was the first set I saw on the internet about a year ago and I’ve been looking forward to seeing it in all its glory since. It doesn’t disappoint one bit. the LEGO Lord of the Rings Attack on Weathertop comes with five fantastic LEGO Minifigures, Frodo, Merry, Strider (Aragorn) and two utterly brilliant Ringwraiths, they are utterly brilliant, really they are!
With these Minifigures comes a masterfully designed LEGO model of Weathertop and although its only little it really does capture the feel of the place in the films. This is one of those lego models that can be opened up to reveal more cool features inside Weathertop, even what looks like a little rat! I almost forgot to mention that the Ringwraiths each come with a black horse, which really is the icing on the cake 🙂
LEGO Lord Of The Rings The Orc Forge Price Comparison
Deep in the depths of Isengard huge caverns have been opened up by Saruman’s army of Orks who have been put to work creating a hybrid Ork/Human creature, the ultimate fighting machine the Uruk-hai. What does an army need though? Weapons and lots of them so these irks and Uruk-hai have been sent to work building a mighty forge to create hundreds of swords.
This LEGO Lord of The Rings The Orc Forge looks like it has well and truly been hammered out in the bowels of Isengard, yet again the LEGO designers have done a mighty fine job. You get four LEGO Minifigures, Lurtz, a random Uruk-hai and two Mordor Orcs. All the weapons are faithful re-creations of the ones from the films, with shields, helms and armour this set is great.
The meat of this set though is the fantastic forge for creating all this war gear. It looks just like a load of Orks made it, a perfect model for fans of the film.
LEGO Lord Of The Rings The Mines Of Moria Price Comparison
One of the best scenes certainly of the first film if not the series too, the Mines of Moria are a grim place who’s previous residents have met an unfortunate end, just as Gandalf and the Fellowship of the Ring discover what happened to the Dwarfs, all hell is let loose when the Goblins and Orcs are alerted to their presence… and its not only them, they brought a flipping makka Troll with them too!
The LEGO Lord of the Rings Mines of Moria set is an amazing set for the LOTR fan, not only do you get seven Lord of the Rings Minifigures you also get four building elements so you can re-create Balins Tomb in your own Mines Of Moria.
For about Seventy quid you get Pippin, Boromir, Gimli, Legolas, two Moria Orcs and one flipping ginormously giant Cave Troll!! oh and two skeletons too, with loads of wicked features and accessories this set will keep you in the battle for hours!
LEGO Lord Of The Rings The Battle of Helm’s Deep Price Comparison
Now we come to the final and biggest of the new LEGO Lord of the Rings range, oh and what a stonker it is! The LEGO Lord of the Rings Battle For Helms deep is a brilliant recreation of the main entrance to the Mines of Moria from the films it even features the second keep just like in the film and the massive Horn of Helm Hammerhand that Gimli ends up blowing to contact Gandalf.
With eight Lego LOTR’s Minifigs, Aragorn, Gimli, Haldir, King Theoden and four Uruk-hai you are set for a right battle, well once you have built up your castle that is!
You also get some great accessories like a horse for one of your riders of Rohan, a ladder and a bomb for your Uruk-hai Berserker to carry, to his doom.
All in all if you love LEGO (tick) and you love The Lord of The Rings (tick) (tick) than you are going to love this and all the other LEGO Lord of the Rings set I’ve talked about.
And don’t forget…
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
