The LEGO Lord of the Rings Battle for Helm's Deep set is, in a word... HUGE!
This is the big daddy set of the new LEGO Lord Of The Rings range and to be honest I'd given up hope that those lovely people at LEGO might make sets based around one of my favorite Books/Films, finally though they have got round to it!
I have to tell you dear toy searcher it was well and truly worth the wait, these Lego LOTR sets are magnificent.
This Helm's Deep set is on many of the Christmas Lists this year and although its a more costly toy than many of the others I feel it deserves its place as one of the most popular toys for Christmas 2012.

Lord Of The Rings LEGO The Battle Of Helm's Deep Review
I managed to see this set in all its glory at my recent trip to TheToyShop HQ and I have to say it really is as good as I thought it was after seeing all these pictures of it.
Lets have a look at this set in all its glory then.
If you have read the fantastic book "The Two Towers" by Tolkien or seen the excellent film adaptation of "The Two Towers" then you will know that the people of Rohan are suffering the onslaught of the evil Uruk Hai army of Saruman and they are desperately outnumbered. If you haven't read or watched this instalment of Lord of The Rings.. then seriously you owe it to yourself to fix that!
Lord Of The Rings LEGO The Battle Of Helm's Deep is made up of 1368 LEGO pieces and contains eight of the brand new range of LEGO Lord of The Rings Minifigures.
You will get in your box the following figures, Aragorn, Gimli, Haldir, King Théoden, Berserker Uruk-hai and 3 Uruk-hai. A really good selection so you can re-create the dramatic storming of Helms Deep.
The Castle of Helms Deep is made up of three sections firstly you have the main wall and gate structure which is the biggest of the three.
It features the main gate, the sewer where the Uruk Hai Berserker runs with Saruman bomb and loads of other nice little details take straight from the film, like the secret side door that Aragorn and Gimli sneak out of to defend the main gate.
The tower section featured the massive The Horn of Helm Hammerhand that Gimli blows during the battle and is a nice feature of this set.
You then get to build the inner Keep of Helm's Deep, its as nicely detailed as the front wall and features loads of cool accessories like weapons racks and a throne.
This set features a small part of the huge wall that blocks of the valley of Helm's Deep in the film, but its the most important part.. the bit that blows up! You will be happy to know that you can re-create this with your LEGO Helm's Deep as this section will explode!
If you have the smaller Uruk-Hai Army LEGO Set as well you will be able to attach it into the wall to make your Helm's Deep castle even bigger.
This set is definitely right at the top of my own personal Christmas list, sadly I doubt i'll be allowed it... but one can hope 😉 If you get one for Christmas this year I really hope you enjoy it!
