Having had the pleasure of playing with the new Leapfrog LeapPad 2 a month or so back I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt... children are going to love them!
We have always let out Son play on our smartphones, there are loads of suitable apps and educational games and this new childrens tablet craze has been fuled by a generation of children who have grown up with access to Mummy and Daddy's phones.. but now want soemthing for themselves.
So if you want to reclame your mobile phone from your youngsters, then this new Leapfrog LeapPad 2 is definitely worth a look. It has been featured very highly in the Christmas Prediction Lists of late so I think its going to be a massive success.

Leapfrog LeapPad2 Review
The new Leapfrog LeapPad2 feels very slick in your hands and it definitely feels more grown up than the likes of the VTech InnoTab 2 not that this makes it any better.
If you have ever played with the original LeapPad this new V2 will feel very familiar. The only real changes on the surface are the colour and new front facing camera. Its very similar the the older LeapPad V1 which was popular last year.
Inside though things have definitely got a whole lot better. With a rear and front facing camera both with much higher resolution than before in both video and still pictures, children will love making their own movies.
Over all its faster than before and and you can add extra storage for all those movies and pictures as well as game saves.
As before you can control all of the LeapPad2's functions with just your finger like an iPhone or you can use the stylus that can be tooked away when not in use and you will be happy to know has a cord attached so it dosent get lost.
You will need to get hold of some batteries for this, sadly they are not included. Might I suggest some good rechargeable ones.
One of the Leapfrog LeapPad2's best features is the software thats built in when you first fire it up and the fact you can add a host of other apps really easily. These can be either loaded via connecting your LeapPad2 to a computer or you can use one of the 300+ cartridge games that are available.
With the built in games though your children will be able to...
Extra games can be downloaded from the LeapPad store on your computer and transferred to the LeapPad2 with a cable, they cost about a fiver so not to expensive and they will keep your little ones entertained and should teach them something too!
I only got to play with this for a short while but I was very impresed with all of the photo features I played with and I can see how children from 3-9 will feel very at home with one of these if they have played on an iPhone or Ipad before.
